Bethel Getu was born on August 16, 2000, in Holeta, Ethiopia. She received her BA in marketing management from St. Mary University in 2022, and a BA in Printmaking from Addis Ababa University, Ale School of Fine Arts and Design 2023. She is also a photographer, digital artist, photo model and a singer. Her art works experiments with different techniques and media with inspiration for creation taking various forms and experience including sound, written words, interviews, music, movies, nature… There is no end to the sensory immersion that occupies her mind. Combining inspiration with reflection of thought and adding emotions Curiosity, impassivity, fear, passion, joy, disgust, hope, calm and etc. This compulsion to articulate thinking and emotion is fuel of her artworks. To express these ideas, she uses portraits, human figure gestural perspectives, self-portrait and shadow photography.
